Daily loss
A dollar limit on today's result, realized plus open profit and loss. Alerts at 70, 90 and 100 percent.
Your own limits on a Guardian account, shown next to the firm's rules. They send alerts only.
A custom rule is a limit you set yourself on one or more Guardian accounts. It is checked on the account's live feed and sends an alert to your phone and your alerts page. It does not place, block, cancel or close any trade. On a monitor only account it works the same way: alerts only.
A dollar limit on today's result, realized plus open profit and loss. Alerts at 70, 90 and 100 percent.
A count of trades on the account for the trading day. Alerts at 70, 90 and 100 percent of the count.
The most contracts open at once across the account. Alerts at 70, 90 and 100 percent, and when the count is over.
The days and hours you set, in a time zone you pick. An alert shows when a position is open or an order is seen outside the window.
| Topic | How it works |
|---|---|
| Trading day | The CME trading day, which starts at 5 PM Central. Each alert level fires once per account per trading day. |
| Firm rule beside yours | Where the firm has a matching limit, the page shows both and marks the stricter one. Your rule can be looser than the firm's; the firm's rule still applies and is never changed by yours. |
| Editing a rule | An edit starts a new version. Alerts already sent that day stay sent. |
| Missing data | When the account feed has not reported yet, the rule shows data unavailable instead of an all clear. |
| Plan limits | Guardian Solo: 2. Guardian Multi: 5. Guardian Desk: 10. |
