A URL that receives data automatically when something happens. In FirmGated, your strategy has a webhook URL. When TradingView fires an alert, it sends your signal JSON to that URL. Think of it like a doorbell — TradingView rings it, FirmGated answers.
A JSON message that tells FirmGated what trade to place — which ticker, which direction (buy or sell), and how many contracts. Every trade starts as a signal.
Your trading playbook inside FirmGated. It has a unique webhook URL and holds your execution settings. Signals come in through the strategy and get routed to whatever broker account your subscription points to.
The link between a strategy and a broker account. It tells FirmGated: when a signal arrives for this strategy, send it to this specific account. One strategy can have multiple subscriptions pointing to different accounts.
Your connected broker or prop firm account inside FirmGated. This is where trades actually get placed. You add broker connections from the Brokers page.
A mode where FirmGated holds every trade and waits for you to say yes or no before sending it to your broker. You approve or reject trades on the Notifications page. Useful for reviewing signals before they execute on a funded account.
When this is active, FirmGated can send signals to your broker automatically without you needing to approve each one. Requires that you confirm your setup aligns with your broker and prop firm's rules for automation.
A feature that blocks all new trades on an account. It can be triggered manually or automatically when a profit target is hit. When Target Lock is Active, no signals will route to that account.
The maximum dollar amount you are willing to lose in a single trading day. Once your realized losses hit this number, FirmGated blocks all new trades on that account for the rest of the day.
A limit that tracks how far your account has fallen from its highest point. Unlike a daily loss limit, it does not reset each day — it follows your peak account value upward as you profit. Most prop firms use this model.
A prop firm requirement that no single day make up too large a percentage of your total profit. For example, Apex requires that your biggest profit day not exceed a certain percentage of your total profits. FirmGated's Consistency Guard helps you stay within this.
A safeguard that blocks signals outside of your approved trading hours. If a signal arrives at 3:15 PM CT and your session ends at 3:09 PM CT, FirmGated blocks it automatically.
When turned on, hitting your daily loss limit actually blocks trades — not just warns you. The block applies for the rest of the day on that account.
When turned on, hitting your trailing drawdown limit blocks trades on that account.
All the optional protection rules you can configure in FirmGated — daily loss limits, drawdown limits, trading hours, manual approval, and more. None are required. You set them to match your prop firm's rules or your own risk tolerance.
The status a signal gets when it is being held for your approval. It appears on the Notifications page. The trade will not route to your broker until you approve it or it expires.
A proprietary trading firm that gives traders funded accounts to trade with — Topstep, Apex, Earn2Trade, and others. The firm sets rules you must follow (daily loss limits, drawdown limits, etc.) or you lose the account.
A simulated trading account that does not use real money. Used for testing your strategy and signal flow before going live on a funded or live account.
The short identifier shown next to your webhook (e.g. 🪝**abc123). It identifies which webhook a signal came through on the Signals page.
A cap on how many signals FirmGated will accept in a given time window. This protects your account from being flooded with signals from a misconfigured alert.
